Some Holiday homework!

Thank you so much to all the parents who helped out on our Road Safety walks this week. It was very much apprecietd.

Welcome to 2 Olive!

Although I have already met many of you, there is a Parent's Meeting on Monday 15th September in the middle hall where you can find about more about Year 2. I hope you can make it.

Half Term 1

This half term the Year 2 children will be learning about the following topics:

- Maths:

Help your child to practice their bonds to 10, doubles and halves, odd and even numbers and ordering. These skills will help them to solve trickier maths problems later in Year 2.

- Literacy: Instructions

We are learning to write instructions in Literacy. It would be really helpful if you could share difefrent types of instructions with your children such as Recipes, Making Things, Games etc. With support, your child should be able to point out the various features of instructions.

Please refer to the Maths and Literacy target booklets.

- Geography An island home.
Talk about the differences between living in London and living on a small island.

- Science Forces and Motion
Remind children about the Pushes and Pulls topic they studied in Year 1.

- R.E Beliefs and Values
We will be focusing on Judaism but also looking at different beliefs and values.

- I.C.T Graphics
Using a graphics program to create own designs.

- Music Duration
How long and short notes within different tunes are.

- Art Picture this
Using photography and pictures to represent a story.
